Anirban Basu was named Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) chief economist in February 2008. His primary responsibility is to provide ABC with timely, comprehensive analyses of important trends in the U.S. commercial and industrial construction industry. Basu produces ABC’s electronic economic news report, , which includes an analysis of the following federal government economic indicators upon their release: construction spending, employment, producer price index and gross domestic product. Basu also writes a monthly column for magazine and produces ABC’s Backlog Indicator Survey, launched in December 2008.
